Santa slots: Pragmatic Play's changing Christmas formula
Unlike a conventional holiday sequel line, Pragmatic Play's Santa series does not preserve one reel model and decorate it again each winter. It starts with Santa, a 2017 medium-volatility game built on a 5x3 grid, 20 paylines, free spins, stacked symbols, and a progressive jackpot, then moves toward larger grids and cascading reward systems.

Santa's Wonderland made the decisive break in 2021. Its 8x8 grid pays clusters instead of fixed lines, with cascades feeding symbol collection, level progression, reel modifiers, and increasing multipliers. The 7,500x ceiling and bonus buy place much more weight on feature escalation than the original's recognizable line-slot structure.
Santa's Great Gifts shifted onto a 6x5 grid in 2022 and centered its 5,000x model on cascades, collected energy, wild multipliers, extra free spins, and Holiday Rush. It retains the accumulation logic of Wonderland but packages it in a tighter screen with a lower maximum.
Santa's Xmas Rush keeps the 6x5 format while returning to cluster wins and raising the cap to 10,000x. Respins, bonus symbols, free-spin multipliers, and Holiday Rush make it the sharper high-volatility endpoint. Christmas imagery remains constant, but the series arc runs from paylines and a progressive jackpot to collection meters, cascades, and multiplier-driven clusters.
