Reactoonz series: energy meters at the cartoon edge of cluster slots
Reactoonz occupies the playful science-fiction end of high-volatility cluster slots, where Play'n Go turns cascading wins, symbol collection and energy meters into a sequence of increasingly disruptive grid modifiers. The franchise's bright creatures disguise a demanding loop: clusters clear, replacement symbols fall, meters advance and wild effects reshape the board. Reactoonz remains the clearest statement of that formula, but the surrounding entries test larger grids, conventional ways-to-win reels and higher ceilings.

Energoonz supplied the 5x5 cascading-grid foundation in 2013 at medium volatility and a 1,000x maximum. Reactoonz expanded the idea in 2017 to a 7x7 board, high volatility and a 4,570x ceiling, with energy collection feeding expanding wilds, colossal symbols and symbol substitution. Reactoonz 2 kept the 7x7 cluster frame in 2020 but added level progression and lifted the listed maximum to 5,083x.
The Toonz engine
- Grid motion: winning groups disappear and cascades refill the open positions.
- Energy collection: removed symbols advance meters that unlock or strengthen modifiers.
- Oversized interference: colossal symbols and 3x3 mega symbols can dominate large sections of the board.
- Wild escalation: expanding, sticky, walking or randomly added wilds create the major differences between branches.
- Visual continuity: cartoon alien creatures keep the family recognizable even when the reel format changes.
The franchise then stopped treating 7x7 clusters as mandatory. Dr Toonz uses a 6x4, 4,096-ways format with free spins, transforming symbols and a 22,000x ceiling, the line's strongest move toward a conventional reel slot. Gigantoonz instead enlarges the cluster board to 8x8 and adds a bonus meter, while Gargantoonz returns to 7x7 with sticky and walking wilds, symbol removal and a 7,000x maximum.

- Gigantoonz and Gargantoonz: larger grids and more persistent wild behavior make board control the main source of tension.
- Reactoonz 100: random multipliers, substitution symbols and a 10,000x ceiling concentrate the later formula around modifier impact.
Reactoonz helped make the collection meter feel native to cluster play rather than an extra progress bar pasted onto it. Each cascade can serve two purposes at once: paying immediately and charging the next board change. The sequels vary the grid and reward ceiling, but that conversion of cleared symbols into future power remains the franchise's central idea.
