Mystery Reels series: one motif across changing reel systems
Unlike a sequel line that simply stacks another bonus onto the same grid, Red Tiger Gaming's Mystery Reels series rebuilds its classic fruit-and-gem premise around a different reel system each time. Mystery Reels started in 2017 with a 5x3 screen, 20 paylines, free spins and a bonus wheel beneath a 5,000x ceiling.

Mystery Reels Megaways made the largest format jump in 2019, moving to a 6x7 layout with 117,649 ways, colossal reels, mystery symbols and a free-spins multiplier. Its 10,000x ceiling doubled the original limit. Mystery Reels Power Reels took a separate route later that year with an 8x6 screen, 30 paylines paying both ways and 3x3 mega symbols, but a lower 5,250x ceiling.
Mystery Reels Deluxe returned to a 5x3 layout in 2022, increased the line count to 25 and combined mystery-symbol swaps with a prize wheel and multipliers. Its 23,084x ceiling is the series' largest escalation. What stays constant is not the grid but the conceal-and-reveal idea: mystery symbols, wheel events or variable reel structures delay information, then resolve it into a more concentrated outcome.
