Moon Princess series: how the cascade formula branched

Moon Princess began in 2017, when Play'n Go fixed the series around a 5x5 cascading grid, cluster-driven wins, character modifiers and a 5,000x ceiling. The Moon Princess slots then grew by raising volatility, adding selectable free-spin modes and changing how meters respond to wins or empty cascades. The anime-fantasy cast remained the stable element while the reward model moved.

What survived every rewrite

  • Grid behavior: 5x5 screens and cascading or avalanche sequences let one paid spin produce repeated symbol removal and replacement.
  • Character intervention: princess-themed modifiers swap symbols, add wilds or alter the grid rather than serving as decoration alone.
  • Bonus spine: free spins and multipliers carry the larger feature sequences.
  • Series tension: later entries increase feature control or collection depth while retaining the same moonlit anime identity.

The decisive expansion arrived in 2021. Moon Princess: Christmas Kingdom moved to high volatility and a 15,000x ceiling, adding increasing multipliers, reel modifiers and a choice of free-spin modes. Moon Princess 100 followed with the same 15,000x maximum and high volatility, returning to the core fantasy setting while preserving cascades, colossal symbols and selectable free spins.

Moon Princess Trinity changes the pressure point in 2023: symbol and energy collection can benefit from non-winning spins, while sticky wilds and random rewards support a lower 4,000x ceiling. Moon Princess Power of Love restores the 15,000x maximum and adds syncing reels to the collection model. Moon Princess Stargazing later centers energy collection and extra free spins around a 10,000x ceiling.

The series in five steps

  1. Moon Princess: establishes the 5x5 cascade grid, modifiers and 5,000x base.
  2. Christmas Kingdom: raises volatility and the ceiling while adding mode selection and increasing multipliers.
  3. Moon Princess 100: keeps the 15,000x direction in the original fantasy setting.
  4. Trinity and Power of Love: make collection progress, including value from non-winning spins, more important.
  5. Stargazing: condenses the later collection model around energy, extra free spins and a 10,000x maximum.

The original remains the reference point for the franchise's cascade rhythm. Christmas Kingdom, Moon Princess 100 and Power of Love are the 15,000x branches, while Trinity favors a denser collection system at a lower ceiling. The wider franchise also includes Moon Princess Extreme, another direct variation on the same character-and-cascade identity.
