Luck O The Irish slots: one theme, several payout engines
Unlike a franchise built around one immutable bonus, Blueprint Gaming's Luck O The Irish slots use the same leprechaun, rainbow and clover identity to carry fixed paylines, Megaways, hold-and-win, jackpots and cash collection. That makes the series less about finding a definitive sequel and more about choosing the mathematical format: the early Fortune Spins games offer the largest listed ceiling, while later branches trade that target for different feature rhythms.

The shared Irish code
- Visual language: leprechauns, rainbows, clovers and gems keep the line recognizable while reel systems change around them.
- Bonus emphasis: free spins, mystery symbols, multipliers or respins provide the main feature value rather than the base-game theme alone.
- High-risk roots: the foundation, Megaways version and several later experiments use high or medium-high volatility.
- Format switching: the series repeatedly changes paylines or ways instead of treating the original 10-line grid as permanent.
Luck O The Irish Fortune Spins fixed the visual identity in 2015 on a 5x3 grid with 10 paylines, wins in both directions, syncing reels and a listed 50,000x maximum. The unusually narrow bet range and high-volatility profile make it distinct from the later mass-market branches. Luck O The Irish Megaways rebuilt that identity in 2019 around up to 16,807 ways, reel-set changes and bonus access, but its listed ceiling fell to 10,000x.
The 2021 releases split rather than converge. Fortune Spins 2 doubled the fixed lines to 20, retained the 50,000x ceiling and added hold-and-win and bonus-buy access. Gold Spins expanded to 40 paylines with free spins and reel-set changes. From there, Big Bonus moved to 50 lines and sticky wilds at a much lower 1,000x maximum, while Mystery Ways adopted 243 both-way wins, splitting symbols and hold-and-win. These are meaningful changes in hit construction, not merely new Irish artwork.
The jackpot and collector offshoots narrow the targets further. 7's Jackpot King returns to 10 paylines and adds a progressive jackpot. Go For Gold uses a bonus wheel and fixed jackpots with medium volatility and a 500x ceiling. Gold Spins Trail Blazer keeps 40 lines but also tops out at 500x. Cash Strike compresses the base to five paylines and centers a cash collector, while Luck O' The Irish Strike expands to 4,096 ways, combines hold-and-win with fixed jackpots and cash collection, and restores a listed 10,000x ceiling.
How the Luck branches differ
- Fortune Spins foundation: 10-line, both-way wins and syncing reels establish the high-volatility 50,000x model.
- Megaways rebuild: variable ways and reel-set changes replace the fixed-line logic while reducing the listed maximum to 10,000x.
- Expanded fixed-line lane: Fortune Spins 2, Gold Spins and Big Bonus move through 20, 40 and 50 paylines with different bonus access and ceilings.
- Mystery and jackpot lane: Mystery Ways, 7's Jackpot King and Go For Gold divide the formula among split symbols, progressive prizes and a wheel.
- Collector lane: Trail Blazer, Cash Strike and Strike move attention toward multipliers, cash collection and fixed jackpots.
The practical dividing line is therefore not old versus new. Fortune Spins remains the extreme ceiling choice, Megaways changes how wins form, and Strike assembles the broadest modern feature stack. The Irish symbols supply continuity, but the number of ways, jackpot type and collector logic determine how each version actually plays.
