Evoplay Fruit series: how the Nova format scales
The Fruit series is Evoplay's fixed-line fruit-slot franchise, built on a simple Nova base that expands screen height and paylines while keeping scatter-led play and a roughly 5,000x target through the Super Nova branch. Its formula is numerical rather than narrative: the fruit, star and fire symbols remain familiar while each title advertises a different amount of screen coverage.

Constants in the Fruit series
- Visual language: fruit symbols, stars and flames reference classic machine design without adding characters or story scenes.
- Win model: fixed paylines make the number in each title an immediate guide to line coverage.
- Trigger: scatter symbols recur across the line, keeping feature recognition straightforward.
- Risk: the profile stays between low-medium and medium rather than moving into consistently high volatility.
Fruit Nova set the compact baseline in 2020 with a 5x3 screen, five paylines, low-medium volatility and a 1,005x maximum. Fruit Super Nova expanded to 5x4 and 20 paylines in 2021, moved to medium volatility and raised the maximum to 5,000x. That screen-and-ceiling jump is the franchise's main transformation; later editions mostly tune line coverage around it.
The numbered variants demonstrate that tuning. Fruit Super Nova 40 doubles the 20-line format without changing the 5x4 grid or 5,000x maximum. Fruit Super Nova 30 settles between them at 30 lines and nudges the cap to 5,100x. Fruit Super Nova 60 makes the larger structural move, using a 6x4 screen and 60 paylines with the same 5,100x ceiling.
The Nova line-count progression
- Fruit Nova: five lines and a 1,005x maximum establish the lighter starting point.
- Fruit Super Nova: 20 lines, an extra row and a 5,000x cap create the core sequel format.
- 30 and 40: the same 5x4 structure receives different line coverage with only a small ceiling change in the 30-line game.
- 60: a sixth reel produces the widest screen and a 5,100x maximum.
- 100: the format returns to 5x4, increases coverage to 100 paylines and shifts back to low-medium volatility.
Fruit Super Nova 100 completes the visible line ladder with 100 paylines on a 5x4 screen, a 5,000x maximum and low-medium volatility. The series therefore works as a controlled comparison of line density: Fruit Nova supplies the sparse entry point, the 20-to-60 versions add coverage and screen space, and the 100-line game increases routes without increasing the payout ceiling.
