PearFiction Studios was founded in Montreal in 2014 by Thierry Semoff as a casual mobile developer. A social slot experiment followed in 2015, and in 2016 the team shifted toward real-money games while building an HTML5 framework.

On April 28, 2026, St8 announced distribution of Games Global content, explicitly including PearFiction among the partner studios.

Skillzzgaming is the closest conceptual peer because both studios connect casual-game design with wagering products. Skillzzgaming puts match-3 input, XP, and mission progression inside the core loop; PearFiction stays closer to conventional reels and carries the casual influence through characters, timed states, and named bonus systems.

The limitation is mechanical repetition beneath the changing stories. LockNWin, coin collection, Split symbols, expanding reels, and multiplier pots recur across several releases, so the cast and art may change more than the underlying bonus structure. PearFiction's strongest games make those systems easier to read, but the same labels can also make later titles feel like variations of a shared template.
